Grooms family bakery provides Burnham Market with bread, cakes and pastries, all traditionally prepared and baked daily on its own premises in the Market Place.
The Bakery caters for the surrounding local communities as well as the many holiday home owners and other visitors who come to stay in North Norfolk. Well known for its excellent range of over 25 varieties of bread and choice of confectionary, Grooms also provide wholesale to shops, restaurants and public houses in this Norfolk area.
Burnham Market is known as Norfolk’s loveliest village, with its Market Place and village green surrounded by Georgian shops and houses. It is also known as ‘Little Chelsea’ because of the number of London visitors to the area.
What we bake:
The Groom bakers work 6 nights a week in the bakery at the rear of the shop in Burnham Market. They work between the hours of 8pm and 8 am to prepare and bake the bread and confectionary for the next day.
The slide show on the left shows the bakers at work in the night preparing some of the bread and rolls. It starts with Peter Groom checking what is needed for the next days trade.
The dough is prepared and bread and rolls shaped. Each piece has its weight checked before being placed on trays for proving and then baking in the ovens.
All our products are freshly baked.
