Norfolk Showground - Thu Apr 15 2010 to Thu Apr 15 2010
Last year the event was held on Thursday 16th April and after a scary start at 07.00 with a torrential downpour it turned out to be a perfect day for a Spring Fling.
We entertained about 4,600 people who enjoyed a fun packed day of hands on activities at over 40 stands, a tractor and trailer ride to the countryside area where they could hold a live giant cockroach, baby tortoise, watch a fly tyer, or watch City College cooking up a healthy meal to raptors, gundogs and Highland cattle.
As always we provided something new this year and in The Ark, our renamed animal area, we brought in two very well behaved donkeys, a shetland pony, British White bull, some Portland sheep and some Tamworth weaners.
The dairy cows again were a great draw as the children love to watch them being milked. North Elmham Bakery also had a huge crowd around them and many children went home with a plaited loaf to bake for their tea together with their very own hand made sausages.
Assembly House, Norwich - Fri Apr 30 2010 to Fri Apr 30 2010
BBC New Generation artist, Gwilym Simcock sits at the meeting point of classical and jazz music. Hailed as both a gifted pianist and imaginative composer, Gwilym presents a new work in which he will also perform. Forming the perfect partner to Gwilym’s work Ravel’s Piano Trio has a texture of sound unusually rich for a chamber work and is known for the high level of virtuosity required. Messian’s Louange à l’Éternité de Jésus is a movement from his Quartet for the End of Time, composed while Messiaen was held in a prisoner of war camp.
Tickets: £7 (£3 students and under 18s)

Our aim is to promote the handmade work of talented individuals and provide them with a venue where they can exhibit and sell their work directly to the public. We carefully select exhibitors to ensure that the standards of crafts are kept high and that there is a varied range of crafts showcased at each event.
